Clean up your engine bay after a cowl delete or HVAC filter housing removal with this premium steel wiring harness mounting bracket kit, precision laser-cut for clean, professional engine bay organization on your BMW E8X or E9X chassis. After removing the windshield cowl cover and cabin air filter housing — a popular weight reduction and engine bay cooling modification on E8X/E9X chassis — the previously concealed wiring harness becomes exposed and creates a cluttered, unfinished engine bay appearance. This bracket kit utilizes factory bolt holes to neatly route and secure the wiring harness in clean organized positioning, transforming the post-cowl-delete engine bay from cluttered chaos to motorsport-grade cleanliness. Powder-coated black steel construction blends seamlessly with the engine bay aesthetic while delivering permanent durability for sustained underhood exposure.
Features:
- Tidy engine bay design – uses factory bolt holes for scratch-free installation, neatly organizing the exposed wiring harness after cowl and HVAC filter housing removal
- Sturdy and durable construction – high-quality steel material ensures product strength and permanent dimensional stability
- Laser-cut precision – delivers high dimensional accuracy for perfect fit to factory bolt hole positions
- Powder-coated finish – rust-proof and anti-corrosion protection, with a clean black aesthetic that blends seamlessly into the engine bay appearance
- Improved engine bay cooling – removing the cowl and HVAC filter system improves engine bay airflow and cooling performance for spirited driving
- Weight reduction benefit – the cowl delete modification reduces vehicle weight by approximately 10 pounds (4.5 kg) by removing the cowl and HVAC filter system
- Easier maintenance access – with the cowl removed, accessing the DME cartridge, spark plugs, valve cover, and other engine bay service points is significantly easier
- Enhanced engine sound – the cowl removal allows the engine intake and operational sounds to be more audible from the cabin

Important Use-Case Notes:
-
Cowl delete prerequisite: This bracket kit is designed to organize the wiring harness AFTER removing the windshield cowl cover and cabin air filter housing. It is intended for cowl delete modification builds, not factory configuration vehicles
-
Cabin air filter loss: Removing the cabin air filter housing eliminates cabin air filtration. Drivers in dusty, allergen-heavy, or polluted environments may want to consider this trade-off carefully before performing the modification
-
Water management consideration: The factory cowl directs water away from the engine bay. After cowl deletion, water can enter the engine bay through the windshield drainage area – consider water management implications before performing the modification, especially for daily-driven vehicles
-
Sound damping reduction: Removing the cowl and HVAC filter housing reduces engine bay sound damping, allowing more engine and intake noise into the cabin – considered a benefit by enthusiasts but may not suit all drivers
Installation Notes:
-
Cowl delete required: This bracket installation is performed AFTER removing the windshield cowl cover and cabin air filter housing. Complete the cowl delete first, then install this bracket kit to organize the exposed wiring harness
- Allow the engine to fully cool before beginning installation to avoid burns from hot engine components
- Document the original wiring harness routing before disassembly – take photos of the harness path and connector positions before cowl removal
- Carefully remove the windshield cowl cover and cabin air filter housing per factory service procedure – do not damage surrounding clips or trim during removal
- Identify the factory bolt holes that the bracket utilizes for mounting – consult included instructions for proper positioning
- Position the bracket kit using the factory bolt holes – verify alignment before tightening any hardware
- Carefully route the wiring harness through the bracket securing points – ensure no wires are pinched, kinked, or stressed during routing
- Tighten all mounting hardware to factory torque specifications – do not overtighten, which can damage threads or distort the bracket
- Inspect all wiring routing after installation – verify no contact with hot surfaces, sharp edges, or moving components
- Test all engine and electrical systems before normal operation – verify no fault codes or electrical issues from the modification
- Consider applying water-resistant tape or wire loom to exposed harness sections to protect against weather exposure
- Professional installation recommended if you are unfamiliar with BMW engine bay disassembly procedures
- If unsure about compatibility with your specific BMW variant or modification approach, contact our team with your year, model, and chassis code before ordering
Warranty:
- 12-month standard warranty from date of purchase
